A fresh contender has emerged in the competition against Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham AFC, as Tom Brady has acquired a minority share in Championship side Birmingham City.
Given their prominent status in the public eye, Reynolds and Brady are somewhat acquainted, and the Hollywood actor eagerly anticipates witnessing the clash between the two clubs on the field.
“I know Tom a little bit, and I don’t think you need to know him to know he has the spirit of a lion and a competitor in every way, shape and form,” Reynolds said.
“Whatever he has cooked up for Birmingham, he is going to bring it. Come on in, the water is warm!
McElhenney, on the other hand, responded with a more respectful tone, expressing his excitement about the news.
“I would never give Tom Brady words of wisdom over professional sports,” he added.
“But Tom, if you have any advice for us, you could send it our way?”
Ready to learn everything about football
In a statement, Brady acknowledged his need to familiarize himself with the sport.
“You may be asking, ‘What do you know about football, Tom?’ Well, let’s just say I’ve got a lot to learn,” Tom said.
“But I do know a few things about winning. I think they might translate well.”
