Jamaree Bouyea of the Sioux Falls Skyforce signed a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat, the team announced. He is expected to be available to play on Wednesday versus the Indiana Pacers.
The signing was first reported by The Athletic.
Bouyea, who went undrafted last year, played with the Heat in summer league and in the preseason, averaging 8.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in four games. He was eventually waived and sent to the Skyforce.
The 23-year-old is averaging 17.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.8 steals in 32 games with the Skyforce this season. He has scored in double figures 27 times, including a season-high 34 points on Jan. 9 versus the Stockton Kings.
The signing comes with the Heat down five players due to injury, including Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson and Victor Oladipo. Bouyea should provide some depth in the backcourt and be able to step in and play immediately given his familiarity with the team.
