Jim Harbaugh watch is officially underway. The Michigan coach is fresh off winning the College Football Playoff National Championship with a 34-13 win over Washington, and now that he has completed the national title-winning mission with his alma mater in his ninth season, the attention turns to what he will do next. Is a move back to the NFL — where he went 44-19-1 across four season with the San Francisco 49ers and earned a trip to the Super Bowl — in the cards? Will he remain with his beloved Wolverines and attempt to create a dynasty?
Seven NFL teams are currently looking to fill a head-coaching vacancy, and Harbaugh is reportedly drawing interest from a few of those organizations. The Wolverines, however, are hoping they don’t lose to their leader to the big leagues. He was reportedly offered a 10-year, $125 million deal from Michigan that includes a clause prohibiting him from entertaining NFL offers ahead of the 2024 season.
CBS Sports will be here to update this story with the latest developments around Jim Harbaugh’s coaching future as they become available.
