Philadelphia 76ers big man Paul Reed is continuing to try and find a way to be consistent out on the floor. There are some nights where he is terrific, as he was against the Miami Heat to begin this road trip, but then there are other nights where he struggles as he did against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.
Reed picked up three fouls in only 4:42 of playing time in the first half in the 133-126 loss to the Mavs. That limited his effectiveness out on the floor and coach Doc Rivers had to make a change by turning to Montrezl Harrell late in the first half before Joel Embiic re-entered.
Foul trouble is something that Reed continues to deal with. On Friday, he took to Twitter to call for an explanation from the officials. He added that he wants to understand what he has to do to avoid fouls and not lose any of his minutes.
Reed will have to continue to grow as a player and understand not to be so reckless out on the floor. With that being said, there are some fouls that he gets called for that seem more based on reputation than the actual foul call itself. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to learn from his mistakes.
