After a wild week at the PGA Championship, the PGA Tour moves to Fort Worth for one of the most historic non-majors on the schedule, with a stout field led by two-time Players Championship Scottie Scheffler.
The PGA Tour Champions will play its second major championship of the season and the Korn Ferry Tour returns to Tennessee.
Taking a break will be the LPGA, which will play its second major of the season next week, and the LIV Golf League, which plays in Houston in two weeks.
PGA TOUR
Event: Charles Schwab Challenge, Thursday-Sunday, Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas.
At stake: $9.1 million purse ($1.638 million and 500 FedEx Cup points to the winner.
Defending champion: Emiliano Grillo.
TV: Golf Channel (Thursday-Friday, 4-7 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 1-3 p.m.). CBS (Saturday-Sunday, 3-6 p.m.).

Scheffler finished in a tie for third with Harry Hall, one shot out of the playoff. … In addition to Scheffler, the field includes Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose.

At stake: $3.5 million purse ($630,000 to the winner).
Defending champion: Steve Stricker.
TV: Golf Channel (Thursday-Saturday, 1-4 p.m.; Sunday, 3-4 p.m.); NBC (Sunday, 4-6 p.m.).
Area players entered: Fred Funk, Vijay Singh.
Notable: Stricker defeated Padraig Harrington with a par on the first playoff hole. … Also in the field will be Retief Goosen, Bernhard Langer, Miquel-Angel Jimenez, Ernie Els and John Daly.
KORN FERRY TOUR

At stake: $1 million purse ($180,000 to the winner).
