Quarterfinal matchups for the SEC Tournament are set for Friday as the league’s top four seeds will take the court for the first time following the opening two days of postseason action in the league. Among those making their debuts in Nashville will be No. 1 seed Alabama and No. 3 seed Kentucky as the league moves closer to crowning a champion on Sunday.
Up first, the Crimson take on No. 9 seed Mississippi State after the Bulldogs escaped the second round with a dramatic overtime time win against Florida on Thursday. Then, in the day’s second game, No. 4 seed Missouri takes on No. 5 seed Tennessee in a rematch of a game the Tigers won on a buzzer-beater on Feb. 11.
To begin the evening wave, No. 2 seed Texas A&M will look to continue its surge against No. 10 seed Arkansas after the Razorbacks squeaked out a victory over Auburn on Thursday. Finally, in the nightcap, the Wildcats play No. 6 seed Vanderbilt as the Commodores fight for at-large candidacy in the NCAA Tournament. Vanderbilt won at Kentucky on March 1, and that outcome should be fresh in the memory of the Wildcats as they prepare to play again less than two weeks later.
