Shane van Gisbergen will be a full-time driver in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025.
The New Zealand-born driver will race in a third full-time Trackhouse Racing entry next season, the team announced at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday before the Coke Zero Sugar 400. van Gisbergen will run the No. 88 Chevrolet for Trackhouse in 2025.
van Gisbergen has been running a full-time Xfinity Series schedule this season with Kaulig Racing, posting three wins on road courses while adapting to the oval racing style. He also has run a part-time schedule in the Cup Series in a third Kaulig car, including Saturday’s race at Daytona and seven of the final 12 races overall.
The 35-year-old is a three-time Supercars champion who burst onto the NASCAR scene with a stunning victory at the Chicago street course in 2023 in his first career Cup Series start.
van Gisbergen joins Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez as full-time drivers in Justin Marks’ Trackhouse Racing team. Suarez is locked into the playoffs after a win in Atlanta early in the season, while Chastain is battling for a wild card spot with two regular season races to go.
