Mets assistant general manager and vice president of baseball operations Ian Levin will depart from the organization at the end of the season.
Levine has been with the Mets since 2005 when he joined the club as a media relations intern. He soon moved to the baseball operations side and was promoted to assistant general manager in July 2021.
President of baseball operations David Stearns told SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino in mid-August that he hadn’t settled on a decision yet on whether the team will hire a general manager. However, Martino noted, “as any new head of a department would, Stearns has spent this season observing personnel and systems that predated his arrival.”
The Mets will surely have a busy offseason of front office moves as Stearns continues to build up the staff around him.
