After going through pregame workouts with the training staff, Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was deemed healthy enough to play in Sunday’s rubber match against the Philadelphia Phillies, but his afternoon came to an early end.
Leading off an playing shortstop, Lindor had a base-hit in his first at-bat, but he was very slow out of the box and simply didn’t loom like himself. Dealing with lower back soreness, Lindor was pulled in the second inning with Luisangel Acuna replacing him in the lineup.
The Mets later announced that Lindor left the game with back discomfort.
