The Aztecs, coming off their eighth MWC title since 2011, have developed into one of the premier mid-major programs in the country. SDSU is experienced and elite on the defensive end and has played in 10 NCAA Tournaments since 2010. Charleston went 31-3 during the regular season and found itself ranked in the top 25 for the first time in 20 years. While the Aztecs excel defensively, the Cougars are among the best offensive teams in college basketball, averaging 80.8 points per game.
No. 4 Virginia vs. No. 13 Furman is another critical matchup in the South. The Cavaliers have experienced two first-round exits and one national championship in their last three trips to the NCAA Tournament.
