London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Nigerian international defender Rofiat Imuran on a three-year deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
The 20-year-old left-sided defender joins London City Lionesses following a spell playing her football in the French Arkema Première Ligue with Stade de Reims. Imuran made 30 appearances for Stade de Reims in league competition. Whilst being a strong defensive player, she was also a threat in the opposition box, scoring eight goals.
On the international stage, Imuran is a member of Nigeria’s senior national team. She represented The Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
After joining London City Lionesses, Imuran said “I’m very excited to join London City Lionesses and start a new chapter in my career in England. Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived and I look forward to being able to help the team on the pitch.
“I wanted to come to London City because the coach presented an interesting project and I wanted a different challenge.”
Imuran could be involved for London City Lionesses when they face Charlton Athletic at Hayes Lane on Sunday afternoon.
