Serie A side Bologna lost Lewis Ferguson to an ACL injury last season but the Scotsman is nearing a return to action, having stepped up his recovery.
Ferguson impressed for the Rossoblu before he picked up the serious injury and in the meantime, he saw Joshua Zirkzee and Riccardo Calafiori head to the Premier League, with the Dutchman joining Manchester United and the Italian joining Arsenal.
As he nears his return to fitness, Ferguson was asked about his former teammates and also went onto reveal his Premier League dream and his liking for Chelsea and Frank Lampard.
He told Corriere di Bologna, as relayed by Calciomercato: “It’s normal for big clubs to notice you if you play well, that’s what happened to them. The departures of Zirkzee and Calafiori didn’t surprise me: they had a fantastic season.
“I’m happy for both of them, playing in the Premier League remains my dream, I don’t know when but I want to get there. In Scotland I’ve always been a Rangers fan, in England I’ve always followed Chelsea: Frank Lampard played there, he was an idol.”
Ferguson was linked with a move to Manchester United before his injury and he was also linked with the likes of Juventus and Milan. He could have got that big move but for now, he would have to wait till the end of the season and he would also have to impress in the campaign to show that he is still at his best.
