Mercedes Has Crazy Good Deals on the C63 Because Nobody Wants Them

If you need evidence that a car is about more than just numbers, look at the new Mercedes-AMG C63. Even though the new C63 makes 671 horsepower from its hybrid four-cylinder compared to the previous V-8 model’s 503 horsepower, that big number alone doesn’t seem to be enticing buyers. Mercedes is now offering up to $10,000 off of lease deals for the performance car.

Doug Horner, general sales manager at Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted in Ohio, took to his TikTok, BenzsandBowties, to highlight a pair of incentives that shave $10,000 off the price of a new AMG C63—$7,500 lease cash and a new $2,500 base incentive. According to Horner, that equates to a $300 lower monthly payment over a three-year lease, which adds up.

And the new C63 isn’t cheap—it starts at $87,200 for 2025 (including the $1,150 destination charge)—and there have been reports that it isn’t selling well. The switch from a V-8 to a four-cylinder hybrid might have turned off buyers, even if the new one is better in nearly every way.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor produce plenty of power, propelling the hefty sedan, which weighs 4,800 pounds, to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. It’s an impressive feat that lacks the raucous vibes of its predecessor that its fans have come to love, and it might not satisfy those who miss the V-8.

AMG has defended its decision to slip a hybrid in its performance sedan, calling it “very, very progressive” while admitting that it could take time for customers to really appreciate the new hybrid powertrain.

Maybe they need a three-year lease deal to mull it over?
