NASCAR qualifying results: Starting lineup for Sunday’s championship race at Phoenix

We don’t know where the four finalists will finish in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series championship race.

But we know where they’ll start.

Championship weekend rolled along Saturday at Phoenix Raceway and Cup qualifying is over, setting the starting lineup for Sunday. In his final Cup Series race as a full-time driver, Martin Truex Jr. will begin in pole position.

Four drivers survived the three rounds of playoffs (each round was three races) and entered this weekend with a chance to win the Cup championship — Joey Logano (Team Penske), William Byron (Hendrick Motorsports), Tyler Reddick (23XI Racing) and defending champion Ryan Blaney (Team Penske).

And here’s your daily reminder: None of them has to win Sunday’s race to become the champ, but simply finish ahead of the other three, as Blaney did last year when he finished second behind Ross Chastain.
