HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS — Charlie Woods showed off his skills in front of father Tiger Woods on Wednesday, putting together a stellar back-nine on the tournament’s second day to shoot 151 (1-over) over the Class 1A high school golf state championship.
Woods shot five birdies during the second day of the state tournament, including three on the back-nine to finish as the second-highest scorer on the Benjamin team, finishing 32nd individually in the tournament.
“Nice shot, Charlie!” several voices rang out as Woods lined himself up with a beautiful drive on hole 16, helping the Buccaneers close the gap on the leaderboard with his final birdie of the day.
Tiger Woods watched intently from start to end as his son helped Benjamin to a top-three finish for their share of the state hardware.
