Five-star 2025 wide receiver Caleb Cunningham on Wednesday flipped his commitment from Alabama to Ole Miss, he announced on Instagram.
Cunningham is the No. 22 overall rated player in 247 Sports’ rankings for the 2025 high school class and No. 3 ranked receiver. The Choctaw County (Miss.) High School senior is 247 Sports’ top-rated player from the state of Mississippi.
Cunningham committed to Alabama on July 13, but still visited contenders including Ole Miss and Auburn. Cunningham told Bama247 in October he was still “locked in” with Alabama, but earlier this week was forecasted by 247 Sports’ Tom Loy to flip to the Rebels.
Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class entered Wednesday ranked No. 1 nationally but fell to No. 2 behind Ohio State with Cunningham’s flip. Alabama still has 22 players committed, including four five-star players. Alabama’s lone remaining committed wide receiver is New Jersey three-star Lotzeir Brooks.
The early signing period for 2025 prospects begins December 4.
Alabama has no wide receivers who will exhaust their eligibility after the 2024 season, but four juniors — Germie Bernard, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice and Emmanuel Henderson — are eligible for the NFL draft. In addition to those players and star freshman Ryan Williams, the Tide also has Jalen Hale, Caleb Odom, Cole Adams, Jaren Hamilton, Rico Scott, Bubba Hampton and Amari Jefferson on its 2024 roster at receiver.
