Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan extended his sensational point streak to 54 games with the OHL’s London Knights on Saturday.
The forward secured a primary assist on a power play marker in the second period in a rematch of the 2024 Memorial Cup Final with the Saginaw Spirit. Despite a late third-period surge, the Knights held on for a 6-5 victory for their 14th straight win.
Cowan now has recorded 91 points (37 goals, 54 assists) during his 54-game point streak with the organization, dating back to November 24 of last season with the Knights. Although the record is deemed unofficial by the OHL and the CHL due to the streak tying back to the 2023-24 season, Cowan holds the longest point streak in the CHL since 2000.
The Mount Brydges, Ontario native is now just one game shy of tying former Maple Leafs captain Doug Gilmour’s OHL record of 55 consecutive games with a point. Gilmour set the record during the 1982-83 season with the Cornwall Royals.

With his current streak unofficial, Cowan still has the opportunity to capture the point streak officially with the Knights having 46 remaining regular season games on the schedule. It is still possible, even while being expected to miss time to represent Team Canada at the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa, Ontario in December and early January.
The forward was drafted by the Leafs in the first round (28th overall) in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft and has since signed a three-year entry-level contract with the organization (August 11, 2023). Despite being determined to crack the Maple Leafs’ lineup out of training camp this year, Cowan was sent back to the OHL given his ineligibility for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies on October 7.
In the 2024-25 season, Cowan sits first on the team in goals (14) and second on the team in points (25). The Knights have a quick turnaround, hosting the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday as Cowan has a chance to extend the point streak to an illustrious 55 games –tying Gilmour’s record.
