Tiger Woods will be back on the golf course next week, playing with his son, Charlie, in the PNC Championship.
Tiger announced Tuesday he will play in the Dec. 21-22 event that pairs a professional golfer with a family member. This is the fifth straight year Tiger and Charlie have teamed up for the 36-hole scramble exhibition at the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Orlando.
Charlie, a sophomore on the Benjamin School golf team, finished the season ranked No. 11 in the state.
“I’m very excited to head back to the PNC Championship next week with Charlie,” Tiger said in a statement. “Playing together is something we look forward to and it’s always more special when you’re surrounded by friends and family.”

Tiger’s daughter, Sam, who plays soccer at Benjamin, was his caddie last year. Tiger and Charlie tied for fifth, six shots behind winners Bernhard Langer of Boca Raton and son, Jason.
Tiger, who turns 49 on Dec. 30, skipped last week’s Hero World Challenge, saying he has “a long way to go” before playing ultra competitive golf after undergoing micro decompression surgery in September.
His goal remains to play once a month, starting with the Genesis Invitational in February, an event he hosts at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
Tiger, the 15-time major champion, played in five events in 2023, finishing one, the Masters, where he placed 60th. He withdrew from Genesis because of illness and missed the cut at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open and British Open.
He played 11 rounds.
Charlie finished tied for 29th in the Class 1A Florida high school state championship with a two-day total of 7-over 151. Benjamin was runner-up in the team event this year after winning the 2022-23 state title.
