Japanese twins headline 26 players who earned 2025 LPGA status at Final Qualifying

As if LPGA Final Qualifying wasn’t tough enough, Mother Nature prolonged this year’s festivities, forcing players to complete the final round on Tuesday after rain washed out most of Monday at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Alabama.

Japanese sisters Chisato and Akie Iwai and their countrymate Miyu Yamashita headline the list of card winners. The twin sisters boast 13 JLPGA titles between them, with Chisato’s seven victories edging Akie by one.

Chisato closed with a 71 to finish 21 under for the tournament, in second, while Akie finished 16 under in a tie for fifth. Yamashita fired a 64 on the final day of play to earn medalist honors and finish the week at 27 under.

2024 NCAA champion Adela Cernousek, who left college midseason to pursue an LPGA card, finished 11 under to earn her card. A total of 26 players earned LPGA status for next sesaon.

This marked the first time since 2017 that the final stage was played over 90 holes, with the tournament consisting of as many as 144 holes (2018 to 2022) and 108 holes last year.

A total of 67 players made the 72-hole cut and the top 25 and ties after five rounds earned LPGA status for the 2025 season. Those who did not earn LPGA cards leave Mobile with Epson Tour status for next season.

Here’s a closer look at each of the 26 players who earned LPGA status for 2025:

Miyu Yamashita

A 13-time winner on the JLPGA, Yamashita represented Japan in the Paris Olympics and tied for second at the KPMG Women’s PGA. She’s currently No. 14 in the world.

Chisato Iwai

A three-time winner this season on the JLPGA, Chisato currently ranks 48th in the world. She tied for 19th at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open.

Gigi Stoll

Missed five straight cuts to end her 2024 LPGA campaign. Stoll notched one top-10 finish for the season at the Dow Championship team event, where she finished seventh alongside Russia’s Nataliya Guseva.

Pauline Roussin-Bouchard

Frenchwoman gets through in her third appearance at final stage. She finished the year fourth on the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit list and No. 150 in CME. Two-time LET winner played collegiate golf at South Carolina and spent 34 weeks as the No. 1 amateur in the world.

Ina Yoon

Currently ranked 30th in the world, Yoon won once on the KLPGA this season and finished runner-up four times. She also notched a trio of third-place finishes to finish No. 1 in Korea.

Manon De Roey

Belgian player finished second on the LET’s Order of Merit in 2024, winning the Investec SA Women’s Open. The 32-year-old played collegiate golf at New Mexico.

Dewi Weber

Netherlands native finished 132nd in the CME points race this season, making four cuts in seven starts. Former Miami player finished eighth at the Portland Classic.

Kumkang Park

Spent most of the 2024 season on the Epson Tour where she finished No. 28 in the Race for the Card. A 2023 LPGA rookie, Park has made only 14 career LPGA starts.

Benedetta Moresco

A rookie on the LPGA in 2024, Moresco made only 10 starts on tour this season, making two cuts. She also made 12 starts on the Epson Tour. Her sister, Angelica, missed the cut at Final Qualifying.

Yu Liu

A veteran of 165 officials starts on the LPGA, China’s Liu made her debut in Final Qualifying this week. She finished fifth on the Epson Tour’s Race for the Card in 2017 to first earn LPGA membership.

Saki Baba

The 19-year-old Japanese star made the cut in 16 of 18 starts on the Epson Tour this season to finish 18th on the points list. In 2022, Baba became the second Japanese player to win the U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Adela Cernousek

The 2024 NCAA champion set a new scoring record at Texas A&M with a 69.94 average. Cernousek played collegiate golf for Gerrod Chadwell, whose wife, Stacy Lewis, is a two-time major champion and former World No. 1. Lewis’ father Dale was on the bag for Cernousek in Mobile.

Amanda Doherty

Made only eight starts on the LPGA in 2024. The Georgian has competed on the Epson Tour since 2020, first earning her LPGA card for the 2022 season after finishing seventh on the Race to the Card points list.

Yuri Yoshida

Three-time winner on the JLPGA played as a rookie on the LPGA in 2024. In 16 starts, she made seven cuts and notched one top-10 finish.

Alena Sharp

Veteran Canadian played Q-School without a caddie, pushing her own bag. The oldest player in the field at 43, Sharp first joined the LPGA in 2005 and has $3.1 million in official earnings.

Julia Lopez Ramirez

Mississippi State player turned professional to compete in Final Qualifying. A two-time SEC champion, the Spaniard has made only two LPGA appearances and both came at the AIG Women’s British Open.

Gurleen Kaur

A rookie on the LPGA in 2024, Kaur finished 130th on the Race to CME Globe Points List after making seven cuts in 17 starts. The former Baylor player tied for fifth at this event last year to first earn her card.

Mariel Galdiano

Finished 20th on the Race for the Card points list this season on the Epson Tour. Former UCLA player notched a pair of professional victories on the Annika Women’s All Pro Tour in 2022.

Kate Smith-Stroh

The 25-year-old Nebraska grad finished 33rd in the Epson Tour points race. Owns her own design and consulting company, Ground Under Repair.

Akie Iwai

Currently No. 29 in the world, Akie recorded a 63 in the second round in Mobile. In addition to her three wins on the JLPGA this season, she has a trio of runner-ups and two third-place finishes.

Azahara Munoz

LPGA veteran and mom first joined the LPGA in 2010 when she took Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year honors. The 37-year-old’s lone LPGA title came at the 2012 Sybase Match Play Championship. Munoz finished 111th on the CME points list.

Soo Bin Joo

The South Korean was a rookie on the LPGA in 2023. She made only seven starts on the LPGA this season finishing 177th on the CME list.

Caley Mcginty

Former Ohio State golfer turned professional over the summer. Represented England at the 2022 Curtis Cup and World Amateur Team Championship.

Mary Liu

The 2024 LPGA rookie made eight cuts in 20 starts and finished No. 105 on the Race to CME Globe Points List.

Ana Belac

The 27-year-old from Slovenia had four top-10 finishes on the Epson Tour in 2024, including runner-up finishes at the 2024 Tuscaloosa Toyota Classic and the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic She made 13 cuts in 14 starts.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc

The 35-year-old from Quebec has been on the LPGA since 2012 and last year made eight cuts in 19 starts. Her best finish was at the CPKC Women’s Open, where she finished T-19. She has four career top-10 finishes
