Former Vegas Golden Knights 2018 offseason signing Zach Fucale is looking to make a return to the NHL after hiring agent Dan Milstein.
Insider and analyst Kevin Weekes reported that Fucale, who’s been playing in the KHL since the 2023-24 season, is hiring well-known agent Dan Milstein in an attempt to return to the NHL.

The 29-year-old was drafted in the second round (36th overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL draft. Fucale was a dominant goaltender in juniors, winning gold as Team Canada’s starting goaltender in 2015. He was also a QMJHL champion and Memorial Cup winner with the Halifax Mooseheads.
After dominating the juniors, Fucale entered the Canadiens organization as one of the top goaltending prospects and with the opportunity to learn under Carey Price. Unfortunately for Fucale, he spent his entire tenure with the Canadiens in the AHL and signed with the Golden Knights on July 1, 2018.
Upon joining the Golden Knights organization, it was more of the same for the Laval, QC native. He put up decent numbers in the AHL but spent more time in the ECHL.
It wasn’t until the 2021-22 season when the Washington Capitals were hit by the injury bug so hard that they needed to call up Fucale. He played in four games with the Capitals, registering a shutout in his first career start and recording a 1-1-1 record, a .924 SV% to go along with a 1.75 GAA.
Fucale spent the 2022-23 season with the Hershey Bears, the Capitals affiliate, winning the Calder Cup but never rejoining their NHL squad.
He decided to sign with Traktor Chelyabinsk in the KHL and has been one of the league’s premiere goaltenders, posting a .928 SV% and 2.13 GAA in 71 games.
His recent success has sparked the desire to return to the NHL and hired Milstein, an agent employed by Nikita Kucherov, Andrei Vasilevskiy, Ilya Sorokin, Yaroslav Askarov and Golden Knights’ Ivan Barbashev, Grigori Denisenko and Matyas Sapovaliv.
Weekes reported there is significant interest from several NHL teams looking to sign Fucale for the 2025-26 season.
