Guelph currently holds a record of 9-18-2-1. They are second-to-last in the league and have made it clear to the entire OHL that they are open for business.
On Monday, the Storm traded away top-six forward, and Vancouver Canucks prospect, Vilmer Alriksson to Brampton.
Then, before making a deal with their rivals Kitchener Rangers, the team traded away their number-one defenseman, and Washington Capitals prospect, Cam Allen to the London Knights.
However, instead of dealing away a player, this time they have added a player and acquired forward Justin Bottineau from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick.
Below are the full details of the trade between Guelph and Kitchener:
Guelph Storm Receive:
RW, Justin Bottineau: 2024-25 season statistics – 29GP, 4G, 5A, +2
Kitchener Rangers Receive:
2028 5th round pick
Bottineau, 18, was selected 56th overall in the third round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. He’s a product of the prestigious GTHL Toronto Marlboros organization and played with Beckett Sennecke and Sam Dickinson in his OHL draft season.

Another player on the Marlboros team was Storm forward Leo Serlin. Bottineau reunites with a minor league buddy from his past.
The Burlington, Ontario native has put up 31 points in 140 games in his OHL career. He’ll have the chance to get more offensive opportunities and playing time with Guelph as opposed to playing down the lineup in Kitchener’s bottom six.
The Rangers are tied for second overall with the Windsor Spitfires and are expected to be active in the trade market. If they acquire a top-nine forward via a trade, it would further push Bottineau down the lineup.
