The Detroit Red Wings have sent defensemen William Wallinder and William Lagesson to their AHL affiliate Grand Rapids Griffins.
Lagesson has been up and down over the past week but both defenders were recalled on Dec. 23 after injuries to Simon Edvinsson and Ben Chiarot.
The 28-year-old Lagesson played in his first two games with the Red Wings this week, recording two shots and averaging 15:57 of ice time per game.
The Goteborg, SWE., native has eight points in 20 games with the Griffins this season.
Wallinder has eight points in 19 AHL games this season, his second full year in North America.
A second round pick of the Red Wings in 2020, Wallinder has yet to make his NHL debut.
As Detroit continue to deal with injuries to their blueline there is a good chance at least one of these two players are in the lineup for their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Dec. 27.
