WWE RAW on Netflix showcased some of the biggest names in professional wrestling. However, a shocking statistic emerged after the show debuted on the streaming platform on January 6, 2025.
World Wrestling Entertainment made history with Monday Night RAW’s debut on Netflix. The Triple H-led creative team had a stacked card for their massive show as fans saw several high-profile matches, including Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa, Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan, and CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins. The Stamford-based promotion also had some legendary names on the show, including John Cena, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan.
However, many people did not like how WWE showcased its product on Netflix. They felt it was more of a ‘corporate’ show than a regular episode of RAW, with all the sponsorships around the arena. Fans’ dismay was also evident on the show after Hulk Hogan’s return, as they heavily booed him. The legend’s segment also felt out of place, with him sponsoring his beer during the promo.
Although the crowd enjoyed The Rock’s return, fans on social media weren’t too happy. They felt The Final Boss’ appearance only happened because of his position on the TKO Board of Directors, and it did not add anything to his storyline.
Despite the controversies, there is some great news for World Wrestling Entertainment. According to Forbes, Monday Night RAW’s debut on Netflix was a massive success as the red brand’s show dethroned Squid Games‘ season 2 from the top spot in the United States.
Triple H sent a message after WWE RAW’s Netflix debut
After RAW’s massive debut on Netflix, Triple H took to X/Twitter to send a message. The Game said it was an incredible night and thanked the WWE Universe for participating in the company’s historic night.
“From the moment @IntuitDome doors opened, through the final bell.. what an incredible night. A MASSIVE thank you to the @WWEUniverse in LA and around the world for being part of the first-ever #RawOnNetflix! See you in 7 days…@netflix,” he wrote.
It remains to be seen what the Triple H-led promotion has planned for RAW’s episodes on Netflix going forward.
