While Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest names in WWE history, he had an unusual response from fans on a recent episode of RAW upon his entrance. Former General Manager of the company, Eric Bischoff, commented on the topic and shared his thoughts about the incident.
Hogan made a surprise appearance on RAW’s first-ever Netflix episode, coming out with Jimmy Hart. Instead of receiving a warm welcome, however, the Hulkster was surprised to be greeted with a chorus of boos. The moment certainly wasn’t expected by many, which led to significant discussion on the topic on social media.
Speaking about it on Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Eric Bischoff stated:
“I felt for him. I could see there was a couple of seconds there where I can see the wheels turning in his head. And for a brief moment he didn’t know what to do. I’ve been there. Different circumstances but I have been there, I am sure Teddy has too. When for whatever reason because of something happening that you didn’t expect, or something not happening that you did expect, or any combination of that, you can be out there by yourself and there’s a brief moment where it’s, you feel like you are standing out there in your underwear because you don’t know what to do.” [2:56 onwards]
A former WWE star has also commented on Hulk Hogan’s appearance
According to former WWE star EC3, the boos after Hulk Hogan’s appearance on RAW were further enhanced because booing was contagious.
Speaking about the matter on an episode of UnSKripted, the ex-24/7 Champion stated:
“To be fair, booing is contagious and it’s kind of fun, especially when you are realizing there’s an awkward situation developing. It’s changing perhaps the choreographed, planned reactions everybody had. I mean that’s the deal with live TV and the deal with a live audience, it’s like they determine how they are gonna react, and they pay money to be there, so more often than not, they have that right.” [14:15 onwards]
It remains to be seen what Hulk Hogan plans to do next in WWE.
