The Ottawa Senators have recalled defenseman Donovan Sebrango from the Belleville Senators, it was announced Thursday.
In a corresponding move, the Sens have assigned forward Zack MacEwen to the AHL.
Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round of the 2020 NHL Draft, Sebrango is in his second season with the Senators organization. In 28 games, he has accumulated three goals and 10 assists for 13 points. Over 198 career AHL regular season games, Sebrango has 38 points.
Having split time between the NHL and AHL this season, MacEwen is in his second season with the Senators. In 21 NHL games, he has collected three points while putting up nine points in 14 games with Belleville.
With Sebrango being recalled, he will have the chance to make his NHL debut. As someone who has impressed Senators brass this season, Sebrango looks to be an important piece for the future.
