Justin Thomas came up short Sunday at the 2025 American Express, finishing 23 under but in solo second, two shots back of winner Sepp Straka.
JT’s recent strong play, though, continues. Dating to last season, his last five finishes are now:
-
solo second (AmEx)
-
tie for 26th (Sentry)
-
tie for second (Zozo)
-
tie for 14th (Tour Championship)
-
solo third at the Hero World Challenge, an unofficial event
“Just keep doing what I’m doing, I don’t need to change or do anything different, just keep building, keep working, tighten some things up,” he said Sunday when asked about his game. “I feel like my wedge game has not been anything close to my level of what I like it being. So, yeah, just kind of keep honing in on that, and work, because we got a big stretch here coming up that I’m excited for.”
Justin Thomas moves into top 10 all-time on PGA Tour money list
Thomas has also reached a new plateau in terms of career earnings. His second place in La Quinta put another $959,200 in his bank account, and that makes him the 11th golfer in PGA Tour history to surpass the $60 million mark in on-course earnings.
JT is now 10th all-time at $60,837,898, a figure that moves him past Matt Kuchar, who slides back to No. 11 with $60,335,682. Jason Day, who earned $519,200 at the American Express after tying for third, is ninth all-time at $61,731,563.
