Ahead of the Calgary Flames contest against the Buffalo Sabres at the Saddledome on Thursday night, the home team made a roster adjustment, calling up Calgary Wranglers captain Clark Bishop.
Earlier in the week, the Flames opened up a spot in the lineup by placing Walker Duehr on waivers. On Wednesday, the San Jose Sharks claimed him on waivers, ending his time with the organization.
Meanwhile, Bishop has been the Wranglers captain this season and is getting his first chance at the NHL level with the Flames. He last skated in the league with the Ottawa Senators in 2021-22.

With the Wranglers, he’s the team’s third-leading scorer, thanks to 16 goals and 33 points in 39 games. Recently, on Jan. 18, he was the overtime hero, scoring the game-winner against the San Diego Gulls.
The 28-year-old from St. Johns, NL, has played 404 games in the AHL, with a stat line that includes 69 goals, 91 assists, and 154 points with a Calder Cup championship in 2019.
Bishop has played with the Carolina Hurricanes and Senators, dressing for 47 NHL games, scoring a single goal with seven assists for eight points.
According to projected lineup notes at NHL.com, BIshop will anchor the Flames’ fourth line with former Wranglers teammate Jakob Pelletier on one side and Stanley Cup champion Ryan Lomberg on the other.
