The first-round pick the Rangers are giving up is top 13 protected and could transfer to 2026 if it falls in the top 13.
The Rangers will also take on Miller’s entire salary, which was reportedly a point of contention in negotiations.
Miller spent the first six seasons of his career in New York before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Brannstrom has played 294 NHL games, recording 10 goals, 67 assists and 77 points. The 25-year-old spent six seasons with the Ottawa Senators while spending this year with the Canucks.
The Canucks drafted Dorrington in the sixth round back in 2022 and he’s yet to play an NHL game. The 20-year-old has spent the last three years in the NCAA at Northeastern University.
