What’s up y’all?
Welcome back to the playlist.
It’s week 16 in fancy basketball.
We’re coming off the craziest NBA trade deadline in history.
We’re gonna talk a little bit about it, but gonna get to the pickups and the schedule things you need to know.
So first things first, you need to pick up Aaron Wiggins.
This man’s been on fire over the last week.
He’s been a top 25 player in 9 cat leagues, averaging 23 points in 7 boards.
Cason Wallace is still dealing with a shoulder injury, so go.
For Aaron Wiggins is a player you’ll want a roster.
Also, I would pick up Nick Smith Junior with the Dalton connect trade going south that just elevated Nik Smith’s opportunity now as a starting shooting guard for the Charlotte Hornets.
When he sees 30 minutes, he’s averaging 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, knocking him down from 3.
So make sure you add him.
And lastly, probably one of the most important pieces of that.
Luca Dacic and Anthony Davis trade Max Christie.
This man’s been playing extremely well, averaging over 17 points, 6 rebounds, knocking down the threes, shooting very efficiently from the field.
He might be the underrated gem of this trade, and you need to pick him up in fancy right now in all leagues.
All right, let’s get to the schedule things you need to know.
All right, week 16, we’re entering the All-Star break, so that means if you’re playing on Yahoo, it’s going to be a 2 week score.
period from February 10th to February 23rd.
Why is that important?
Because you’re gonna want to maximize your transactions.
Don’t use them all in the first part of the week because you still have games to play going into after the All-Star break.
So the All-Star break will last from begins Friday to the following Wednesday.
For this video, I’m really just gonna focus on part one of week 16, which runs from Monday to Thursday.
The days that you’ll want to prioritize streaming on are Tuesday and Thursday.
Those are both lighter slates with 4 games and 5 games respectively, but it’s important to know that there’s no teams that play on both Tuesday and Thursday this week, so you’re kind of gonna have to choose which day you want to attack.
I would prioritize the teams that play 3 games in 4 nights, so that there will be games on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Those teams, you got the Dallas Mavericks, the Golden State Warriors, the Miami Heat, the Timberwolves, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Utah Jazz.
If you’re interested in the lighter slates on Tuesday.
And then also a back to back on Wednesday.
Take a look at the Memphis Grizzlies, the New York Knicks, the Suns, the Pistons, the Bulls, the Pacers, the Sixers, and the Raptors.
And of course any time that there’s a back to back associated with the Sixers, that’s a rest opportunity for Joel and Beid and Paul George.
So make sure you take a look at Quentin Grimes, Gerhaw Yabuselli as they could be seen, uh, an increase in minutes with those players off the floor.
And to close out, I just wanted to talk about the post deadline.
Uh, fallout from the trade deadline and you know while I wrote up an article for the winners and losers of the trade deadline, something happened on Saturday that I think caught the NBA world and fantasy managers by surprise is that the Lakers and Charlotte Hornets deal that included Mark Williams going to the Lakers and Dalton Conne going to the Charlotte Hornets fell through.
It seems like the the Lakers weren’t comfortable with Mark Williams’ medical history and his progress of his foot injury.
And so the trade didn’t go through, which has massive implications for a player like Jackson Hayes, who I originally had as a loser at the trade at the trade deadline.
But now he’s actually a winner because he’s the starting center for the Lakers.
Will the Lakers play small sometimes?
Yeah, they probably will.
Dorian Finney Smith will likely play that small ball center.
But at the same time they also could be buyers in the buyout market.
We don’t know, but as what we know right now though is that Jackson Hayes is the starting center for the Los Angeles Lakers and he’s coming off a game where he had, you know, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks.
Um, he’s definitely a viable fancy option for anyone looking for a big, but then also on the flip side, you look at Nick Smith Junior who I talked about earlier as one of the pickups.
He doesn’t have Dalton.
Connect to compete with for shots now so that backcourt is essentially just his and Lamelo balls.
So that’s a huge opportunity for Nick Smith Junior but um, you know, if you look at Dalton Kne, he was looking to thrive and now I knew one that picked him up in fantasy unfortunately has to drop him because now he goes back to the Lakers.
He’s probably just gonna be, you know, assigned the 3 point shooting role that he was in before so don’t really see much upside here for Dalton.
Connect, but yeah, just a really interesting trade dynamic when a trade just doesn’t go through and very significant on the Lakers front.
I know they’re really banking on fortifying that front court with Mark Williams and now they’re going back to their original iteration kind of seems like that’s going to hurt their their their outlook going forward, but we’ll see what happens.
I’ll do it for the playlist in week 16, part one.
We’ll see you again after the All-Star break.
Peace.
