The NASCAR Cup Series opens Daytona 500 week with Wednesday’s qualifying session that will set the front row for Sunday’s race.
As is custom, the initial single-car qualifying session settles the pole sitter and the outside pole for the Daytona 500. Also, the top two fastest open entry cars will lock into the field via speed on Wednesday.
It leads to Thursday’s two 150-mile duel races to set the 500 field behind the front row.
