Another day and another Marc-Andre Fleury record and achievement. With his start against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Fleury is now second all-time in games played among goaltenders.
He passed Roberto Luongo to take sole possession of second place on the all-time games played list for goalies.
Fleury, 40, ranks second all-time in games played (1,045), minutes played (60,353:52 entering today), wins (572 entering today), and now owns 1,013 career starts, one shy of tying Roberto Luongo (1,014 starts) for second all-time.
The Minnesota Wild goaltender has now played 1,045 career games. He has played 691 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, 192 with the Vegas Golden Knights, 45 games with the Chicago Blackhawks, and 117 games and counting with the Wild.
Heading into Saturday’s game, Fleury is 11-6-1 on the year with a 2.57 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
