The former Wild defenseman Calen Addison signed an AHL contract with the Henderson Silver Knights before the 2024-25 season. He played under Brent Kisio in the WHL with Lethbridge before his journey to the pros.
Kisio is Henderson’s assistant coach and likely a big reason why Addison signed with Henderson after he was released from his professional contract tryout with the Ottawa Senators.
After he was released, he signed an AHL deal with Vegas before the season started. At Friday’s trade deadline, Addison was traded to the Springfield Thunderbirds from Henderson in exchange for future considerations.
Addison, 24, had three goals and 33 points in 49 AHL games for the Silver Knights this season.
He played 92 career games with the Wild, where he recorded five goals, 33 assists, 38 points, and 21 power-play points. Addison has six goals and 44 assists for a total of 50 points in 152 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks and the Wild.
