It’s official: Arsenal and Brighton have this afternoon confirmed the signing of Leandro Trossard by the current Premier League leaders.
The 28-year-old Belgian arrives as a quality addition to Arteta‘s midfield.
This season he has scored seven goals for Brighton, making him one of the surprise packages of English football.
“The 28-year-old winger, who played for Belgium at the recent World Cup in Qatar 2022, has signed a long-term contract,” an Arsenal statement read.
According to unofficial sources, the transfer is worth around 25-30 million euros.
“It is a good job done by everyone at the club to complete the signing of Leandro,” Arteta said about the deal.
“He is a versatile player with great technical ability, intelligence and a lot of experience in the Premier League and at international level.
“Leandro strengthens our squad as we approach the second part of the season, we are all looking forward to working with him.
Trossard’s reaction
“I’m very excited to get started. This is a big club and I’m ready to show the fans what I can do,” the player himself said.
“I’m here to help achieve their dreams, including my own.”
