By now, there has been a small sea of ink spilled on the topic of the Boston Celtics potentially adding San Antonio Spurs big man Jakob Poeltl via a trade ahead of the Feb. 9 deadline. But ,for some reason, just when you thought the notion was gone, it rears its head again.
After a report tying the Celtics to Poeltl via some vague framing suggesting Boston is interested in the German center, that debate has roared back to life. But does it even make sense for a team that just extended veteran forward Al Horford and may do the same to Grant Williams this offseason?
According to the Ringer’s Michael Pina, the answer is an unequivocal yes. Pina makes his case as a guest on an episode the CLNS Media “Winning Plays” podcast.
