A TV show that really captured the imagination of both football fans and non-football fans last year was the first season of Welcome to Wrexham.
The show chronicled Wrexham AFC‘s season with new owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the TV and movie stars from Canada and America.
The show was a particular hit in the United States of America and Canada, meaning fans have been desperate to know when the new season is coming.
The football certainly went to plan to make it an incredible season of television as Wrexham secured the National League title with a game left to play. They were pushed a long way by Notts County but after beating their nearest challengers 3-2 in an incredibly dramatic game, they secured the title and promotion to League Two with a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood.
When the final episode of Welcome to Wrexham season one aired in October, McElhenney confirmed that a second season would be on the way.
When is the new Welcome to Wrexham season?
There has been no official word so far on when the show will be aired but given August 24, 2022 was the release date for the first season, there is a strong assumption that August 2023 will be the release time. It gives time for production and editing after the end of the season.
The new season is expected to cover the season that will shortly come to an end, meaning viewers can enjoy the drama of getting promoted back into the English Football League after 15 years out.
How to watch Welcome to Wrexham Season 2
With the first season still being available on Disney+, it is assumed that the new one will also be there soon. A subscription costs 7.99 pounds per month in the UK while international viewers can watch it on FX via Hulu with plans starting at 7.99 dollars.
