Newcastle have signed promising winger Anthony Gordon from Everton. The Magpies have invested a healthy sum in the youngster, having paid 46 million euros plus 7m more in variables.
The 21-year-old Englishman has played 16 games this season in the Premier League with Everton. With the Toffees, he has managed to score three goals and, although he was close to making the World Cup in Qatar, he eventually missed out.
With this signing, Mohammed bin Salman‘s Newcastle have spent a whopping 283 million euros this year. The likes of Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Matt Targett and Nick Pope have all helped to improve Newcastle, and Gordon joins a list of impressive signings.
All this work in the transfer market is paying off for Eddie Howe’s side who have gone, in one season, from struggling to stay in the top flight to being a candidate for a Champions League place.
Right now, they are in third place with 39 points. The Magpies want the Champions League anthem to be played at St James Park and are going the right way about it.
