John Sterling really took one for the team.
The Yankees’ legendary radio broadcaster was hit by a foul ball Saturday night off the bat of Boston’s Justin Turner during the ninth inning of the Yankees’ 3-1 victory at Yankee Stadium.
“It really hit me, I didn’t know it was coming back that far!” Sterling told his radio audience right after the ball knocked him in the face while he was announcing in the booth.

However, the 84-year-old longtime broadcaster didn’t flinch, staying right in his seat and finishing out the game in true professional style.
