Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Monday morning that he was expecting at least one and possibly two changes to his coaching staff, and we now know one of them.
According to SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino, the Mets are hiring Yankees assistant pitching coach Desi Druschel to the same position.
Druschel has worked his way up from the high school ranks, to college, to pro ball, joining the Yankees organization in 2019 and was added to the major league coaching staff after the 2021 season.
Druschel will work with returning pitching coach Jeremy Hefner, who has been with the Mets since December 2019, and reunite with former Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza.
