The J.T. Miller trade rumors are continuing to pick up speed and the New York Rangers are now heavily involved.
According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks were awfully close to trading Miller to the Rangers.
“J.T. Miller I expect is going to play tonight, unless something changes at the last minute,” Friedman reported. “But there was a time in the last 24 hours where J.T. Miller was not going to play. He was going to be held out of the lineup because talks were progressing on a trade, I believe that team to be the New York Rangers.”
While the Rangers and Canucks reportedly almost had a deal finalized, for whatever reason, talks have stalled.
“Now I don’t know exactly what happened but that trade is off right now. … Things had progressed to a certain point where he was definitely not going to play,” Friedman said.
The Rangers have been linked to Miller for weeks, but this is the first time we are learning that serious talks took place and a trade was close to being completed.
It’s unclear if the Rangers and Canucks have resumed conversations and if a possible trade is still on the table.
