The Yankees announced Sunday that they invited catcher Ronaldo Hernández and left-handed pitcher Jayvien Sandridge to spring training.
Hernández, 27, spent the 2024 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Triple-A Reno Aces. In 63 games, he slashed .311/.357/.507 with 11 home runs and 36 RBI.
Sandridge, 25, was a Triple-A member of the San Diego Padres’ El Paso Chihuahuas in 2024. He logged 39.2 IP over 31 games, registering a 4.76 ERA and 1.82 WHIP.
Hernández’s nine-year career in the minor leagues also includes the Tampa Bay Rays (2015-19) and Boston Red Sox (2021-23) organizations.
Sandridge’s six-season stint additionally features time on the farms of the Baltimore Orioles (2018-19) and Cincinnati Reds (2021-23).
New York’s current number of players who are scheduled to report for spring training is 69.
