The Big 12 Tournament championship game matchup is set for Saturday after No. 1 seed Kansas and No. 2 seed Texas advanced through Friday’s semifinals without much drama. The meeting will settle the season series between the league foes after they split a pair of regular-season contests.
Kansas has won nine of its last 10 games and has a pair of double-digit wins so far in the league tournament even while playing without head coach Bill Self, who is out this week because of a health issue. Jalen Wilson led the Jayhawks with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the semifinal victory over Iowa State on Friday as KU shot 52.3% from the floor.
Texas edged TCU in the day’s second semifinal as the Longhorns limited TCU to just 35.6% shooting. Christian Bishop and Dylan Disu each scored 15 for Texas, which never trailed.
