Second-round matchups for the Big Ten Tournament are set for Thursday after the tournament tipped off Wednesday with a pair of games won by the teams with less favorable seeding. No. 13 seed Ohio State beat No. 12 seed Wisconsin 65-57, while No. 14 seed Minnesota outlasted No. 11 seed Nebraska 78-75.
If those games were any indication, we could be in for a wild week in Indianapolis. Up first Tuesday is No. 8 seed Michigan taking on No. 9 seed Rutgers in a game both teams desperately need for their NCAA Tournament hopes. Then, the second game of the morning session features No. 5 seed Iowa taking on Ohio State as the Hawkeyes seek to defend their Big Ten Tournament title from last season against the suddenly feisty Buckeyes.
The first game of the evening session features No. 7 seed Illinois taking on No. 10 seed Penn State in yet another game that has bubble implications as the Nittany Lions fight for their spot in the Big Dance. Finally, the nightcap pits No. 6 seed Maryland against Minnesota as the Gophers look to continue the March magic they created in the first round.
So buckle up and prepare yourself by checking out the full schedule and tip times for the tournament below.
