The Big Ten was Purdue’s to lose all during conference play and is once again Purdue’s to lose as we head to the postseason. The Boilermakers earned the league’s No. 1 seed ahead of the Big Ten Tournament next week in Chicago after winning the regular-season race outright, earning the double-bye and some extra rest with a viable path to the title game.
Purdue’s path to a double title won’t be without its challenges. After a 22-1 start on the season, it has shown signs of slowing. The Boilermakers have lost half of their final eight regular-season games and nearly gave another one away at home vs. Illinois on Sunday. Factor in a lethal No. 3 seed Indiana and the defensive chops of No. 2 seed Northwestern — which beat Purdue and swept Indiana — and the tourney title seems like a toss-up.
Action begins in Wednesday’s evening window from the United Center in Chicago with four of the five double-digit seeds tipping off. It continues with second-round action Thursday, quarterfinals Friday, semifinals Saturday and the title game Sunday afternoon just ahead of the March Madness Selection Show on CBS.
So buckle up and prepare yourself by checking out the full schedule and tip times for the tournament below.
