The Pac-12 is fully unleashing its own iteration of March Madness on Wednesday with a rare quadruple-header (!) from early afternoon to late in the night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The league’s first round of tourney action will feature every team in action but the top four seeds, who all earned byes into Thursday, with No. 8 seed Washington and No. 9 seed Colorado kicking off the festivities at 3 p.m. ET.
Finishing off the night is perhaps the most consequential matchup of the week for the league with No. 6 seed Arizona State drawing No. 11 seed Oregon State. The Sun Devils are on the outside looking in of Jerry Palm’s latest bracket and likely need a win — maybe several — this week to keep its tourney hopes afloat.
Oregon, set as the No. 4 seed, is no lock to go dancing, either, according to Palm. A win or two this week may change the Ducks’ trajectory as well.
At the top of the bracket, the stakes are equally high but different as No. 1 seed UCLA and No. 2 seed Arizona look to improve their tourney positioning. UCLA’s resume is 2-seed worthy heading into the week while Arizona’s on the 3 line in Palm’s latest bracket. Running the table this week could bump the winner up a seed line (or two) pending results throughout the rest of the sport.
