On Saturday, history will be made in Las Vegas, where the Lakers and Pacers take center stage at T-Mobile Arena for the first-ever NBA Cup.
Both Los Angeles and Indiana enter Saturday night with perfect 6-0 records in In-Season Tournament play. The Pacers punched their ticket to the title game with a thrilling 128-119 win over the Bucks, in which Tyrese Haliburton took another major step toward superstardom with 27 points, 15 assists and one incredible late-game dagger.
The Lakers’ game wasn’t as thrilling, as they earned a 44-point victory over the Pelicans in the Semifinals. The stars shined just as bright, with LeBron James finishing with 30 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 23 minutes of action, while Anthony Davis finished with 16 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.
Now, the up-and-coming Pacers will look to take down a Lakers team composed of more established stars in a rematch of the 2000 NBA Finals. The Sporting News is tracking live score updates and highlights from the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament championship below.
