The Rams trailed by 16 points at Dayton last month but outscored the Flyers 44-29 in the second half to improve to 16-8 in the all-time series. Senior forward David Shriver, who is averaging just 6.9 points this season, came off the bench to score a team-high 18 and sophomore guard Nick Kern made the winning layup with 16 seconds remaining. It was the second 18-point performance in three outings for Shriver, who went 6-for-8 from 3-point range while the rest of the team was 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Adrian Baldwin Jr. was limited to six points in the victory but registered a career-high 37 in VCU’s 73-65 triumph at Saint Louis last Friday. The junior guard, who is averaging a team-leading 13.5 points, went 12-for-15 from the field and 4-for-5 from long distance. The Rams have been strong at the other end of the court as they are fifth in the nation in defensive turnover percentage (24.8), 11th in steal percentage (13.4) and 22nd in defensive efficiency (95.1).

DaRon Holmes II is the leading scorer for the Flyers with an average of 17.8 points. The sophomore forward was nearly perfect from the field in Dayton’s 68-59 loss at St. Bonaventure on Saturday, going 7-for-8 from the field en route to a game-high 21 points. Holmes, who leads the nation with 66 dunks, registered 13 points in the first meeting with the Rams.
Toumani Camara recorded the fourth of his five double-doubles this season in the loss to VCU as he led all players with 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The junior forward is first in the conference with an average of nine boards per game and has reached double digits nine times this season. Camara tops the Flyers with 30 steals and is second on the team with 24 blocked shots.
