Commonwealth silver medallist Taylor Bevan has announced he is leaving the GB Boxing set-up after two and a half years.
Bevan joined the GB programme in January 2022, four years after joining the Welsh camp full-time.
The 23-year-old missed out on the Paris 2024 Olympics after defeat to Hungary’s Pylyp Akilov in the first round of March’s qualifiers in Italy.
Those qualifiers provided a second chance for the light-heavyweight, following an unsuccessful attempt at the 2023 European Games in Poland.
“After 12 years of amateur boxing I have decided it’s time for a new chapter and therefore I have left the GB Boxing program,” he wrote on social media.
“During my time as an amateur boxer I’ve had over 100 fights and won numerous Gold medals at international tournaments.
“I’ve travelled all around the world for competitions and training camps and had some amazing experiences and created great memories for life.
“I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has played a part in my career and the people who have made it so special.
“Finally thank you to my dad for always supporting me no matter what and following me around the world to watch me compete.”
Bevan added: “I’m excited for the next part of my journey.”
