Stardew Valley gives players lots of options when starting a new game, including changing the World Seed. This lets you create unique worlds with specific events. A meteor falling one year won’t happen at the same time as a meteor falling in another World Seed, for example.
Once you choose your World Seed and your game creates the world, it will schedule all the random events like daily weather, traveling cart stocks, and so on. Then, you can start interacting with the world however you like, from solving tasks to moving farm buildings, among many other activities.
Here are the best World Seeds in Stardew Valley, along with tips on how to make the most of each one and how you can use World Seeds in Stardew if you’ve never done it before.
Great World Seeds to try in Stardew Valley
We’ve included a variety of World Seeds in this article, ranging from beginner-friendly picks to choices that prioritize long-term success.
Some of them are much trickier than others to find your feet with, too, so make sure to keep our dos and don’ts table in mind when choosing which one to use. The first one we’ve picked out below can be hugely lucrative, for example, but it requires a lot of upfront effort.
Picking a World Seed will dictate which random events take place in your game, for the most part, based on RNG in the game’s code. It doesn’t limit you in terms of what choices you can make while playing, though, so you can still create your dream farm and carve out your own story however you like.
Best early start—269733094
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Plant as many seeds as you can as soon as you get started with your farm | Underestimate how valuable Parsnip Seeds can be—despite them being beginners’ seeds, they’re useful for hitting the ground running and making early-game gold |
Clear space and maintain your farm as the days roll on | Forget to upgrade your tools and equipment where possible |
Watch for the Crop Fairy on Spring 3 | Waste any Energy and go to bed early |
269733094 requires a lot of work initially, but it’s well worth it if you want a great start without the game feeling too unfair. Some of the Stardew Valley World Seeds do feel a little weighted in the player’s favor, so if you want a fun but balanced experience, use this one.
First, go to your farm and plant as many seeds as possible. Prepare by clearing a good chunk of your land, which will be critical later. Plant seeds in the first two to three days after clearing out your farm. You don’t need to water the crops. Just keep planting and clearing space.
On Spring 3, the Crop Fairy will appear. You usually get a complete harvest from your seeds when she’s done, although the effects are random. Planting many seeds will help you make a lot of money, which can help you access top-tier gear and items down the line.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Crop Fairy, this is a random event that triggers a cutscene after the player goes to bed. The scene shows a fairy flying over the farm, sprinkling magic over the crops and making some of them grow instantly. The crops that are selected are randomized, so the effects differ.
We recommend planting a lot of Parsnip Seeds because they’re cheap, and you can plant lots of them in the earlier stages of the game.
In the beginning, you get 500g to buy and plant 25 Parsnip Seeds, and if you combine it with the 15 Parsnip Seeds the mayor gives you, you’ll have plenty to plant. You’ll gain at least 1,400g and up to 2,080g from planting all 40 and have much experience harvesting them.
Day one Crop Fairy—270192222
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Harvest the rewards from the day one Crop Fairy encounter immediately to make gold | Forget to clear out the farm and maximize your space |
Replant your crops as quickly as possible so you don’t miss any gaps in the game’s schedule | Underestimate the potential of early-game crops like Parsnips for making some initial cash |
Keep on top of other essential tasks like the Community Center and its associated challenges | Waste your Energy levels by going to bed early |
270192222 is an interesting World Seed, as the Crop Fairy arrives on the first night. It’s different from the first Seed we shared but still offers a great early-game advantage.
Since the Crop Fairy comes to you on the first night, you can speed up planting and maximize your earning potential. The following morning, you can harvest whatever you planted on day one, making a tidy profit and setting you up for success.
The process may seem the same until you realize regrowth cycles are involved. 500g is enough to plant eight Bean Starters, which take 10 days to grow, but the Crop fairy will take care of that for you. The Green Beans will grow every three days, allowing you to earn even more money.
During your first season, you can harvest your Green Beans nine times if you harvest them on day two. If you could only afford the eight Bean Starters, that’s a minimum of 2,880g and a maximum of 5,760g. If you’re a new player, we’d recommend checking this World Seed out.
Double trouble—269902148
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Watch out for the exceedingly rare Stone Owl | Forget to upgrade your gear so you can loot the meteors for rare and useful items |
Plan ahead when picking which crops you want to plant | Waste your Energy levels—use up your entire Energy bar before heading to bed to make the most out of the day |
Keep an eye out for the Crop Fairy on both the third night and the first night of Fall | Spend all your money in one go, save some for the later stages of your run |
This one is a combination of the World Seeds above. This World Seed has the Crop Fairy visit on the third night, so use the same tactic as the first entry in this list.
The difference is you’re guaranteed to get a meteor event and a Stone Owl in your first season. As a cherry on top, the Crop Fairy will reappear on Fall’s first night.
The meteor is guaranteed to land on your farm, even though it usually occurs randomly. You can loot meteors for normal geodes, iridium ore, and stones. You will also get a Stone Owl that’s unrelated to the Stone Owl sold at the Night Market. Stone Owls appear randomly on farms; many claim there’s less than a one-percent chance of seeing one.
As for the Crop Fairy, follow the tactic from the first World Seed in our list for the initial appearance and use the strategy from the second World Seed for the fall appearance.
Using the money you gain from the first strategy, even if you only get the minimum amount, you can reinvest it to earn at least 8,280g, and at most, 16,560g.
An abundant harvest—338377264
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Make the most out of your energy levels throughout the day, especially after the Crop Fairy has visited | Forget to take advantage of the Mines area if you’re having a slow day |
Go foraging where possible to pick up rare items | Neglect your gear upgrades |
If the seeds above aren’t to your liking, 338377264 is an alternative that prioritizes the Crop Fairy and the benefits that she brings to a farm’s crops.
This seed boasts three ethereal encounters with the Crop Fairy within just two fruitful years. The first one takes place in the first few days after you start your farming journey, with the others taking place at helpful places in the game’s timeline.
The Crop Fairy’s presence is incredibly helpful for any aspiring agriculturalist, as she accelerates the growth of farm crops, ensuring abundant yields and lucrative profits. With her help, you’ll witness a bountiful harvest beyond your wildest dreams.

Keep on top of what the Traveling Cart is selling when it becomes available | Forget about maintaining your farm and doing your daily tasks so you can afford the rare Traveling Cart items |
Save your gold so you can pick up rare items | Ignore the townsfolk, as you can gain a lot by building relationships and exploring their stories |
Pick a starting farm type when booting up Stardew Valley that works with your preferred style of gameplay | Forget about planting Ancient Seeds on Spring One to pick up a lucrative harvest |
Although 203853655 isn’t the most interesting of the group, it’s perfect if you want to finish the Community Center in a year.
The Traveling Cart sells many Bundle ingredients necessary to complete the Community Center on certain days of the year. Remember that when the Traveling Cart comes on Summer 28, you can purchase Ancient Seeds that reward you greatly if you plant them on Spring One.
Trying to complete everything purely by spending gold at the Traveling Cart can be tricky, but that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible.
If you’re trying to do this in a year and are okay with spending gold to make up for what you can’t do, check out our list below for the days the Traveling Cart comes and what ingredients it sells for Community Bundles.
- Duck Feather: Spring Five
- Large Goat Milk: Spring 21
- Nautilus Shell and Truffle Oil: Summer 12
- Sturgeon, Rabbits Foot, and Tiger Trout: Summer 21
- Red Cabbage: Fall 12
- Crab and Large Egg: Fall 14
- Large Mix, Truffle, and Rabbit’s Foot: Winter 14
- Cloth, Solar Essence, and Coffee Bean: Winter 26
There’s no randomness to the Traveling Cart when playing with this Seed, so you will be able to pick up the desired items as soon as the correct date and time roll around.
Strategic moves—203853699
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Keep up to date with Community Center challenges | Forget to upgrade your gear where possible |
Watch out for rare Traveling Cart items | Spend all your money without planning ahead, as some of the Traveling Cart goodies are expensive |
Seed 203853699 is a solid pick for ambitious Stardew Valley farmers who want to conquer the Community Center’s challenges. If you’re an achievement hunter or simply like to tick off every task in a game, this is the best World Seed for you.
It strategically times the Traveling Cart with elusive items like Duck Feather, Red Cabbage, and Truffle Oil so you can access every essential resource throughout the seasons.
Here’s an example. The Traveling Cart delivers the Ancient Seed in Summer, setting the stage for a fruitful Fall harvest. If you plan your days carefully, you can complete the Crab Pot bundle effortlessly by Fall, thanks to the timely availability of Crab on Fall 14.
Hit the ground running—281191250
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Head north from your farm immediately to pick up Ancient Seeds at Linus’ Tent | Give the Ancient Seeds to the NPCs in the Mines, as they can be used for better purposes here |
Donate an Ancient Seed to Gunther at the Museum | Forget to take care of your Ancient Fruit crops, as they can be incredibly lucrative |
Upgrade your equipment where possible to stay on top of your game | Ignore basic farm maintenance and upgrades |
281191250 is a great World Seed if you’re looking for a way to hit the ground running and secure plenty of funds for your farm. It’s packed to the brim with opportunities to earn and invest in your farm, including a chance to score Ancient Seeds very early on.
As soon as you start, your first step should be to head north from your farm to Linus’ tent. You will see some worms in the dirt in front of his tent. Use your hoe to till the worms in the ground and pick up five Ancient Seeds.
Ancient Seeds are rare and have less than a two percent chance of appearing in the Traveling Merchant’s inventory, so this is a magical early-game find.
While it may be tempting to give away the Ancient Seeds as gifts to your favorite NPCs, they can be used for even better purposes. Hold onto them until the moment is right.
Donate one of the Ancient Seeds to Gunther at the Museum. You’ll get a pack of Ancient Seeds in return that you can plant and a recipe to make more Ancient Seeds. You can use the other four seeds to make four more packs of Ancient Seeds and plant them on the same day.
It takes 28 days for Ancient Fruit to grow, so if you plant it on the first day of Spring, you can harvest the first batch of fruit in Summer One, then continue to harvest them every seven days until Winter. The first batch will net you at least 2,750g, and the best batches of five will earn you 5,500g. By the beginning of Winter, you would have earned at least 24,750g and at most 49,500g.
Even the worst-case scenario will make the second year much easier if you save up, making this Stardew Valley World Seed the best for players who like having lots of cash to experiment with during their playthroughs.
Mountain of meteors—309181356
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Visit the Traveling Cart as soon as it pops up during Spring Five and stock up on important items | Forget to upgrade your gear so you can pick up rare materials from meteor showers |
Maintain your farm and keep on top of the busy work | Pass up on the chance to buy Ancient Seeds |
Use Iridium Ore to make a Deluxe Scarecrow and keep your crops protected | Use up all of your Iridium Ore in one go, as it’s valuable |
309181356 is the ultimate choice if you’re looking to farm meteors in Stardew Valley. While it demands a tad more patience, the rewards are unmatched—both from the meteors and from the Traveling Cart during Spring Five, which lets you pick up Ancient Seeds for a good price.
At the end of Spring in year one, you get your first meteoric event, followed by not one but two subsequent chances at the same event at the end of the second year. This is incredible, as meteors are extremely rare in the game and don’t often spawn without prompting from a Seed code.
If the stars align in your favor, the Iridium Meteor will crash onto your farm, giving you six pieces of Iridium Ore. With Iridium Ore, you can unlock many new items, like top-tier tools. Make sure you don’t use it all up in one go, though, as the resource is rare and can come in handy for various projects.
Best Stardew Valley Seed—292740730
Do | Don’t |
---|---|
Look forward to the Crop Fairy’s arrival during Spring 15 | Forget to keep an eye out for Ancient Seeds as you play |
Upgrade your Pickaxe before Fall Three, as this is when a meteor shower will take place, providing rare materials | Neglect your farm while waiting for magical events to take place in the year—there’s still plenty to do here |
Pick up Red Cabbage Seeds as soon as they become available, as they’re rare and valuable | Forget about the Witch’s visit, as she can arrive as early as Summer 12 with this World Seed |
Of all the World Seeds in this list, 292740730 is the most cohesive pick, hands down. If you’re a regular Stardew player hoping to try something new in your next playthrough, take this one for a spin.
It offers up a number of incredible random events, including:
- A meteor shower during Fall Three
- The Witch’s visit during Summer 12
- A visit from the Crop Fairy in Spring 15
Providing you plan ahead and remember to keep both your tools and farm in good condition, starting a run with this Seed can help you max out your farm in no time at all.
How World Seeds work in Stardew Valley
Every time you start a new game in Stardew Valley, a World Seed will be randomly assigned to you. This Seed dictates what will happen in your game, including every random event that takes place during the playthrough.
World Seeds must be changed manually when setting up a new game. Once you’ve filled out your character sheet and basic farm information, hit the button that looks like a wrench on the bottom left hand side of the menu. This opens Advanced Game Options.
In the Advanced Game Options menu, scroll all the way down and find Other Options: Random Seed. Here, you can paste in any of the World Seeds we’ve looked at in this guide to customize your game and play with specific circumstances.
You won’t be able to change the World Seed once you’ve started playing the game, so make sure you’ve typed it in correctly and that you’re happy with your final option. Stardew Valley playthroughs can take hundreds of hours, depending on your playstyle, so it’s best to be certain.
If you’re looking for even more ways to customize your Stardew experience, make sure to dig into the incredible mods that the community has on offer. Whether you’re a fan of challenging gameplay or a die-hard Baldur’s Gate 3 player, there’ll be the perfect mod for you to pick up.
Other mods like map predictors can come in incredibly handy when experimenting with the best Stardew Valley World Seeds. The best options here include the one from the Stardew Valley forum, created by BlaDe, or the one hosted on ModLand by John Der33.
