How to find the Maleshov secret passage in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

As part of the “Taking French Leave” main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll be tasked with infiltrating the Maleshov fortress through a secret passage. Rosa Ruthard gives Henry a rather convoluted set of directions to reach the secret passage, and well, let’s just say the journal doesn’t really help.

Where to find the first stone cross

Before setting out, bring a spade so you can dig out the site. I usually just keep a spade in my horse’s inventory and whistle when I need it. Once you’ve got a digging tool, head over to the stud farm northwest of Maleshov as your starting point. Here is the location of Hashtal’s stud farm.

You can ask Hashtal for horses and supplies if you want, and he’ll acquiesce. Still, finding the entrance to the tunnel is all up to you. To begin your search, take the road south of the farm until you see a shrine.

Take a right at the shrine and follow one of the two trails leading into the woods to the left. You will come across the ruined chapel window, just as Rosa described. Look out the window, and you’ll see the ruins you need to head to next.

Just head in the direction of the ruins as seen from the chapel window. Henry will start talking to himself when you reach the ruins.

From the bonfire in the ruin, turn left. You’ll see a section of wall and the first stone cross pointed north.

Where to find the second stone cross

Follow the direction the stone cross is pointing. You’ll eventually reach a river (you can see the river on the map). The second stone cross is located just south of the river.

Where to find the Maleshov secret tunnel location

Now, follow the direction the second cross is pointing. Head northeast past the river and you’ll come across a small hill climb with some trees. The final stone cross is leaning against one such tree. The entrance to the Maleshov tunnels is right near the cross but needs to be dug out first. Now it’s time to dig. Call your horse to get your spade unless you’re already carrying it. Make sure your horse isn’t standing directly on the digging area and start digging right near the final stone cross. Congrats! You successfully dug out the entrance to Maleshov.
