Palworld and Pokémon share many similarities, from creature appearances and designs to various items found across the Palpagos Islands. One such item is Pal eggs, a core part of the game.
Eggs in Palworld come in all shapes and sizes, and each has a different rarity value associated with it. However, none of these eggs come close to Huge Dragon Eggs, which take the crown in terms of rarity and the formidable Pals they spawn.
So, here’s everything you need to know about Huge Dragon Eggs in Palworld.

Huge Dragon Eggs locations in Palworld
Huge Dragon Eggs seem to spawn randomly in Palworld. However, players have shared where they found Huge Dragon Eggs on Reddit.
- Ruined Fortress City
- Fisherman Village
- Mount Obsidian
- Astegon Boss Cave
These are just a handful of potential Huge Dragon Egg locations that Redditors have come across. However, while finding these eggs can still be pretty hard, the locations they’ve mentioned indicate a potential pattern.
Looking at player experiences, we can surmise that Huge Dragon Eggs mostly spawn on the snow-covered and dangerous high altitude sections of the Palworld map. If you’re scouting other places around the Palpagos Islands, you can look at areas with cliffs and mountains, especially mountain peaks.
You’ll have to climb a decent amount of mountains if you want to check every nook and cranny and have the highest chance of obtaining one of these rare eggs. However, if you have access to a Pal that can fly, you can use it as a mount to quickly scout mountainous areas and pinpoint potential Huge Dragon Egg locations. Flying mounts allow you to scan a larger area and get a better view of the map.
Best way to find Huge Dragon Eggs
The best way to find Huge Dragon Eggs is by hopping on a fast mount and combing through the areas of the Palworld map where these eggs tend to spawn. Here are some early game mounts that you can use to reach high places and find a Huge Dragon Egg in Palworld.
Pal | Mount type | Early location | Technology tier requirement for Saddle |
Direhowl | Ground | Windswept Hills Marsh Island and Verdant Brook teleportation points. |
9 |
Arsox | Ground | Can hatch from a Scorching Egg Sealed Realm of the Swift (lvl 30 recommended) |
16 |
Nitewing | Flying | East of Tower of the Rayne Syndicate teleportation point | 15 |
Vanwyrm | Flying | Southwest of the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster teleportation point | 21 |
With Nitewing, I was able to find around one to two Huge Dragon Eggs around the world. Arsox is fast enough to get around lower mountain areas and can even charge forward at high speed, so I used it a lot to find Huge Dragon Eggs sprinkled around the world. However, when finding Huge Dragon Eggs, Vanwyrm helped me more in the early and mid-game.
Aside from the early to mid-game mounts mentioned above, high-level players can use the Jetragon Pal to roam the map and find Huge Dragon Eggs, as it is the fastest-flying Pal in the game. Of course, Jetragon itself hatches from a Huge Dragon Egg, so you can breed them to get the same egg. This can allow you to double down on rare and intimidating Pals.
Alternatively, you can try obtaining the new and increasingly popular Xenolord Pal as your mount. This Pal was added to the game as a part of the Feybreak update and is a formidable opponent. If you’re considering starting the Xenolord Raid Boss fight, we recommend you level up to the new maximum level of 60.
You can’t catch the Xenolord Pal with a Pal Sphere, and it doesn’t spawn in the world. This means you’ll have to fight and defeat the Xenolord Raid Boss to get a shot at getting it as a mount. So, craft a Xenolord Slab using Xenolord Slab Fragments from Feybreak’s dungeons, use it on a Summoning Altar, and start the boss battle.
Once you defeat the Xenolord Pal, it’ll drop a Huge Dark Egg among many other drops. Place this egg into your Egg Incubator, wait for the timer to count down, and voila, you’ll have a brand new flying mount added to your arsenal.
What Pals can you hatch from Huge Dragon Eggs?
There are confirmed Dragon-type Pals that hatch from a Dragon Egg. Here are the Dragons that hatch from the Huge Dragon Eggs in Palworld:
- Jormuntide Ignis
- Relaxaurus
- Elphidran Aqua
- Relaxaurus Lux
- Quivern Botan
- Blazamut Ryu
- Astegon
- Jormuntide
- Orserk
- Jetragon
- Xenogard
- Silvegis
This list may grow in numbers as players continue to unlock new content in Palworld.
So far, I have only been able to find a Relaxaurus, but friends who have found huge dragon eggs in harder areas have found Jormuntide Ignis. I would assume higher-level areas produce higher-level Dragons.
How to hatch Huge Dragon Eggs in Palworld
Like other eggs in the Palworld, you’ll need an Egg Incubator to hatch Huge Dragon Eggs. During the hatching period, provide enough heat with fires, indoor heaters, and Pals to give heat like Wixen. You can check out a complete Pals list on your Paldeck and use Fire elements to increase the temperature.
It took me two hours to hatch a Huge Dragon Egg, though egg incubation times will vary based on the difficulty level of your world.
There you have it. You know everything you need to find Huge Dragon Eggs in Palworld. Good luck!
